It depends on the class. Im taking a medical terminology class online and i hate it. I like it better in class. If its your first semester of college do in class classes no online if you can!

Well if you are reading every chapter and doing more homework exercises, then you are probably learning more. Retention is better and when you turn in written assignments, the information has to be correct otherwise, it will reflect in your response. No grading based on how you look, who you are or family status.

Thanks for the vid. I'm takin online classes as I kinda had no choice but your vid made me realize it's not a easy thing, I can't be wasting time, need full concentration. It's cool how someone actually put up a vid on online classes.

Thank you so very for making this video! I go to a school where there are quarters instead of semesters, and one of my classes for the upcoming spring quarter is an online class. This video was very helpful with informing me what to expect. Thank you!

Online classes seems pretty okay to me. Homework is once a week or once every 2 weeks. We only have 2 major assigments (usually), 1 mid-term and 1 Final exam that you have to go in person to do. Both online and regular classes seem fine :D

  9. Dalina Ho

This is sooooo helpful. I just finished an 8 week online English class that was REALLY intense.

Please do how to manage time when your in college. Having huge trouble !!!! Thank you. Love ur college advice!!!

  11. tantoga

Personally I like my math classes online because it's at my pace. But other subjects I do like in person

  12. clauchelles

Personally I don't really agree, for general education, I feel like online classes are best as you can spend less time on the easy classes and focuses on the harder in-class one. I feel like for people who do not like to discuss on class lecture, they actually make you read the material because you have to write a summary or reflection about it. So, you will have a voice in online classes.

I liked your video by the way, I agree with you. Being physically present is different than being online and not being "instructed" about anything. A teacher teaches...they do not just say read.UGHHHHHHHHHHHH , vent!!!!! The book cannot show someone how to do something, it can only introduce people to some information. Ughhhhhh !!!!! *vent vent vent*

I HAAATTTEEEEEE ONLINE CLASSES!!!!!!!UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ...vent.... sorry.... my degree is only offered online, WHERE ARE THE TEACHERS FOR HANDS ON TRAINING??? WHERE? is my computer supposed to tell me if I am doing things correctly????? I might as well go talk to a pervert on an online chat room about my homework questions, seriously. The classes that do not need "hands on" instruction, I think it is okay, but the ones that require "hands on" should NOT be online. I swear... goshh..

How can I find Live Online College classes in real time and synchronous? Are there classes and can get college credit and can transfer it officially back to my College on subject like History 101 or History 102 or Music 101? I don't want blackboard or Whiteboard. If I'm going to take online classes, how is cheating possible on exams? How can online exams or quizzes be conducted without having students refer to their books and notes? That's one of the things I need to consider. I already know that plagiarism is possible because people can cut and paste information from a website and use it as their own work. I know that people take online classes in order to avoid stay out of trouble easier. I grew up with a traditional face to face classes like in the 1990s. When I hear about online classes, I dread that I won't meet anyone in person. Also E-learning helps saving trees from being converted into paper. I agree with your points. It's better to start your lessons anytime before the exam.

Good. Maybe you have used software to generate an income online though? I've been using Homely Software System. It's probably going to be shown on a live event happening shortly, so sign up quickly. It's really simple software to work with and I'm getting more than $500 per day right now with it. Look For Homely Software System.

I'm taking all online classes this semester because of health issues. I have a star chart on my bedroom door with all of my assignments for the semester. It keeps track of all my assignments and exams and I get to have the operant conditioning effect of finishing assignments and getting a star.

  33. Grae Hall

Awesome practical fucking advice. Really creepily insightful. Like "holy shit is she spying on me?!" insightful. Really awesome.

  34. Justin Byrne

Fantastic advice. Students unknowingly have to be 'more' responsible while taking on-line courses, for the reasons that you have mentioned, and more. They also receive an added benefit of being able to prepare more than they would while attending a traditional college course. Because many 'on-line' courses give students a set time period to complete a certain section of that course, many students "should" be able to knock out all of their work for that particular time period, in advance.

  35. Brad Brown

Motivation wasnt my problem. I was about engagement. I went to DeVry where most of the higher coursers are all online. Now Im not talking about 2 or 3 classes Im talking about half of your ciriculum will be online which means most of your "learning" will be by yourself. Ciphering out the information with out proper engagement from a professor that could guide your learnging. long story short...total waste of my time.

I love online classes. None of the B.S. biased view from the professors diring their lecture.

  40. Category120

you totally sounded like you were about to cry in this video...

  41. Chris Dunn

These are good tips. I have had some bad online classes because of the professor. However, I am in an online graduate program and I love it. The professor and students meet via Google+. That is a great way to get your questions out and talk to your classmates.

  42. xmellieex

Yeah, you're exactly right (in my case at least). I study via distance because I have a bunch of annoying chronic illnesses that aren't managed enough to let me go to normal school at the moment. I'm normally a really good student, but I find it so hard to motivate myself to do work even though I KNOW it needs to be done. and I spend majority of my days in my PJs haha. There are definitely benefits though :)

    Yay! Thanks so much!
